Claudia has over 25 years experience in re/insurance including underwriting, structured reinsurance, alternative risk transfer, risk management, controlling, and client management with country and result responsibilities.
She retired from Munch Re at the end of 2016 and is CEO and Founder of shiru advisors ag. Before that, she was responsible for Munich Re’s business and operations from/in Asia with a special focus on Japan. She was Senior Client Executive for Japan from 2011-2016 and has been assigned by the Board of Management a double function as Chief Executive Asia Pacific with responsibilities for the Greater China, Korea, and Southeast Asian markets in 2015. This included management responsibility for 6 subsidiaries and branches in the area and more than 500 local employees.
From 2006 to 2011, Claudia Göldi was President of Munich Re in Tokyo and managed its operative business activities. Under her Munich Re established separate organizational units: a fully licensed Japan Life Branch and the Non-Life Services Operation. Claudia was in Tokyo when the Great Tohoku Earthquake struck on 11th March 2011, she evacuated the entire workforce to Singapore, managed the crisis and was thereafter responsible for the claims regulation.
Prior to this, Claudia Göldi, who is Swiss, was Head of Group Risk Controlling from 2002 to 2006, her responsibilities including the creation of a risk management and control system for the entire Munich Re Group. Claudia Göldi joined Munich Re in 1996 as an expert for alternative and structured reinsurance concepts and capital market products (ILS/cat bonds). She previously worked in the same area for Swiss Re, where she began her career in 1992.
Claudia Göldi holds a Masters degree from the University of St. Gallen in Business Administration and Economics with a specialization in Insurance and Risk Management. She took post-graduate studies at the Georgia State University (USA) at the Risk Management & Insurance Faculty, and at the business schools at IMD Lausanne and INSEAD Fontainebleau. She is a certified Design Thinking Coach. Presently she undergoes post-studies on the basis of “Metatheorie der Veränderung” at the Hephaistos Coaching Center in Munich.

She lives in Steinerberg, a small village in Central Switzerland, together with her husband and two children. She likes Yoga, swimming and is a certified diver and enjoys her garden.
